SUMMARY
The Gambia TVET Policy (2021-2030) provides a comprehensive framework to transform and modernize the country’s TVET system. It emphasizes improving governance, expanding access, and enhancing the quality and relevance of TVET to address skill gaps and meet labor market needs. The policy aims to equip Gambians, particularly youth, women, and vulnerable groups, with employable skills through innovative training models, digitalization, and stronger public-private partnerships.
The framework includes structured plans for governance reforms, equitable access to education, apprenticeship, funding, and data-driven policy implementation. It also aligns with national and international goals, such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the National Development Plan (2018-2021), to drive sustainable growth and social progress. If successfully implemented, the policy envisions a skilled and competitive workforce capable of contributing to The Gambia’s socio-economic transformation.
