OBJECTIVE

The plan aims to provide a comprehensive framework to operationalize the National Gender Policy (2025-2034). It focuses on achieving gender empowerment, mainstreaming, and advocacy, while fostering partnerships, collaboration, and resource mobilization to promote gender equality and women empowerment in The Gambia.

CONTENT

The specific objectives of the strategic plan 2025-2030 are;

1. Enhancing Compliance and Inclusion:

  • Ensure adherence to equality principles and eliminate discrimination.
  • Monitor compliance and address violations through investigations and redress mechanisms.

2. Capacity Building:

  • Develop and retain skilled staff and improve the effectiveness of the gender machinery.
  • Provide training on gender-responsive budgeting, mainstreaming, and auditing.

3. Data Management and Research:

  • Ensure continuous availability of gender-disaggregated data to inform policies and programming.
  • Conduct evidence-based research on gender equality and women empowerment.

4. Public Awareness and Advocacy:

  • Promote awareness of gender equality principles and encourage implementation of affirmative actions
  • Strengthen partnerships with stakeholders, including media, CSOs, and government institutions.

5. Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • Establish a framework to track progress and ensure successful implementation of the strategic goals.

The plan also emphasizes resource mobilization, alignment with international gender protocols, and the integration of gender-sensitive approaches in national development strategies.
