OBJECTIVE

The Supplementary Agriculture and Natural Resource (ANR) Policy (2017-2026) aims to enhance sustainable utilization, management, and protection of The Gambia's natural resources. This policy seeks to mitigate the impacts of climate change, address resource depletion, and improve livelihoods through inclusive, community-based approaches and strategic public-private partnerships.

Specific Objectives:

  1. Promote effective ecosystem and biodiversity management to achieve a green economy.

  2. Strengthen the capacity of decentralized structures, ensuring clear roles and resource allocation.

  3. Mainstream climate change, gender, and youth considerations into resource management frameworks.

  4. Empower communities through participatory approaches to resource utilization.

  5. Integrate community-based and ecosystem-based adaptation strategies to build resilience.

  6. Mobilize resources and develop partnerships for sustainable resource management.
